Annmarie Bedard is a proud member of the department of Sport and Movement Science (SMS). Annmarie currently serves as the SMS Operations Coordinator. Annmarie is committed to working with Sport and Movement Science students; she strives to help students realize their academic and career goals. In addition, Annmarie teaches group exercise classes at the Gassett Fitness Center where she is passionate about improving the lives and well being of the Salem State community. Annmarie's dedication for the field of sport and movement science is apparent as she seeks to help and support others in attaining their goals - whether it be academic, personal or health and fitness. Annmarie is is happy to offer her mentorship to the students of Salem State and relishes in connecting with students. As a Viking alum, Annmarie is committed to the student experience and truly enjoys doing her part to help propel students to success.  

Annmarie has a strong background in exercise science and education. Prior to working at Salem State, Annmarie taught elementary physical education as well as high school science including biology. Annmarie is a Massachusetts licensed physical education and health/family consumer science teacher.

Annmarie holds various certifications in health and fitness including ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Madd Dogg Athletics/Johnny G. Spinning Instructor, SHiNE Dance Fitness Instructor, Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT), and American Red Cross CPR/AED/1st Aid Instructor.

Annmarie is a life long resident of the North Shore. She enjoys spending time with family, husband Chris and 5 adult children, Chris jr. Danielle, Ashley, Olivia and Benjamin and their Shih Tzu named Holly. Her daughters Danielle, Ashley, and Olivia are alumnus and son Chris is a currently a student studying liberal arts. Go Vikings!

Committed to health and fitness, Annmarie teaches Vinyasa Yoga, SHiNE Dance Fitness, Hula Hoop Fitness, Spinning, Cardio Kickboxing, Bodytone, Forever Fit, Pilates, and Barre class. Annmarie also loves to work one on one to help people to achieve their fitness goals, she conducts personal training sessions whenever time permits.
