Professional Biography

  • Dr. Guorong Zhu is a full professor in the Management Department at Bertolon School of Business.
  • At Salem State University, she teaches at the Bertolon School of Business and conducts research on leadership development and career management. She has regularly published in scholarly journals. 
  • She received her Doctorate in Business Administration from Boston University and worked as a Management Consultant at the Hay Group's Boston Office for 9 years before joining Salem State University.
  • Her areas of consulting expertise include leadership development, executive assessment, talent management, and international human resource management. Using the understanding of both behavior and work, Dr. Zhu helped clients develop stronger leaders and improve performance by conducting leadership development programs, executive assessments, and executive coaching. Her client work at the Hay Group had been with leading global organizations, such as British Petroleum, Huawei Technologies, IBM, Microsoft, Standard and Poor's, Toyota, Unilever, and United Nations.
