Jeff Driskell, PhD, is a Professor of Social Work at Salem State University where he has been a faculty member since 2008. His practice experience is in the areas of mental/behavioral health and public health prevention and intervention. In addition to his clinical work with children and adolescents in both residential and psychiatric hospital settings, Dr. Driskell has worked extensively with people living with HIV/AIDS and LGBTQIA+ individuals within community-based organizations and in his private therapy practice. Dr. Driskell teaches courses in social work practice, mental/behavioral health assessment, research methods, and public health prevention. Beyond his teaching, three of Dr. Driskell’s professional accomplishments include giving a TEDX talk, being awarded a grant that allowed him to study mental health services in London and Edinburgh, Scotland, and writing an open education resource online book on anxiety disorders. More recently, Dr. Driskell was awarded a travel grant to Copenhagen where he will develop a better understanding of services and policies put in place to treat anxiety and stress disorders.
