Kevin Carey is Coordinator of Creative Writing. Books include: The One Fifteen to Penn Station (2012), The Beach People (2014), Jesus Was a Homeboy (2016) which was an Honor book for the Paterson Literary Prize, Set in Stone (2020), Murder in the Marsh (2020), Junior Miles and the Junkman (2023) which won the Paterson Prize for Books for Young Readers, the co-written Olympus Heights (2024) and the collaboration Revere Beach Stories: Poems and photographs (2025)
His poems have appeared three times on The Writers Almanac on National Public Radio and on The Academy of American Poets Poem a Day. Kevin is also a playwright and a filmmaker. He has co-directed & co-produced two documentaries about poets, All That Lies Between Us and Unburying Malcolm Miller and recently co-directed and produced a murder mystery comedy film MFA: The Terminal Degree. Kevin is a recent finalist for The Montana Prize for Fiction and a finalist for the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Prize from the New England Poetry Club. Kevincareywriter.com
