Professional Biography

Tara K. Fitzpatrick, Student Engagement, Research and Instruction Librarian received her MLIS from Simmons College, Boston, MA and earned her BA in Sociology at Wheaton College (MA) where she graduated with honors and was awarded the Lucretia C. Mott prize in Sociology.  She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Kappa Delta, and Beta Phi Mu honor societies.  Tara has held the position of Research & Instruction Librarian at Salem State University since 2008. Her prior work experience includes public librarianship and an internship at the JFK Presidential Library Archives.  At Salem State she is the liaison librarian for students and faculty in the School of Social Work and the Sociology Department. In the past Tara has served as Graduate Program Coordinator MEd Library Media Studies in the School of Education and liaison librarian to the Criminal Justice and Psychology Departments.
